Numerous studies of wild and pet dogs lead us back to wolves. We now know that wolf puppies brought up during their developmentally sensitive periods by adult domesticated dogs - 5 to 20 weeks - can easily be integrated back into their wolf groups with do problem. This shows us how very close our pet dogs are to their cousin wolves and helps us to understand and make sense of their behaviors.

Early on in my teaching journey I was lucky enough to be taught that it’s not pain & fear - “but the wise use of understanding and empathy that most effectively speaks to our canine family members”. My own experiences since then have confirmed this truth over and over again.

Wherever appropriate, nature teaches her young to co-exist harmoniously in groups.  Without the need for shouting, commanding,  shoving down on bottoms,  yanking on leashes; or resorting to shock collars,  choke chains and pronged collars etc; devices that can be harsh and confusing for dogs,  as well as frustrating, expensive and all too often ineffective for owners.

Using simple and no-nonsense methods,  I follow Mother Nature's lead,  and teach you the right signals to gain your dog’s understanding and willing co-operation.  Once this happens,  stress-related behaviors that cause problems, inside and outside your home,  very often melt away.

I believe that the bond between ourselves and our canine family members is sacred and that trust & mutual respect are essential elements in the relationship between us. My belief is that we have a duty of care always to treat our dogs kindly and justly, never employing training methods that involve pain, fear, or confusion.

*Cancellations*: Sessions canceled at less than 12 hour’s notice may result in my having to charge you a no-show fee equal to a single session rate if I am unable to rebook the time scheduled to you with another client. I am very sympathetic to the demands of busy family lives and so always do my best to meet the needs of busy work schedules and family life.

*Refunds*: Please be advised that package sales are final and I do not offer refunds. As with most services, when a package is purchased, there is an ongoing commitment from both sides and so I’m able to offer a significant discount. If better for you there is also the option to purchase single sessions instead.
